CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Diamond Heels continue their nine-game homestand Tuesday night at Boshamer Stadium against in-state foe Charlotte beginning at 6 p.m.
North Carolina, ranked in the top 20 in this week's major polls, owns a 24-12 overall record, including an 18-8 record at home. Charlotte is 19-15 overall and 7-6 on the road.
The Tar Heels defeated the 49ers 16-3 in Charlotte earlier this season. UNC racked up 17 hits, including three home runs and seven doubles. Tomas Frick and Colby Wilkerson each collected three hits, and Vance Honeycutt drove in five, knocking in four with a second inning grand slam.
