CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Lorenzo Carrier hit a home run during the three-run second inning, and Miami defeated No. 13 North Carolina 4-3 on Saturday.
The Hurricanes took two of three in the series and moved one game ahead of UNC for second place in the ACC Coastal Division standings.
The Tar Heels had won each of their three previous series.
"After losing two, I know fans aren't going to want to hear this, but I feel like we're in a really good place," UNC head coach Scott Forbes said. "We just have to play better.
