GREENSBORO, N.C. – The 2020 Tar Heels were tabbed seventh in the preseason Atlantic Coast Conference poll with junior Destiny Cox earning preseason All-ACC honors, as voted on by the league's head coaches the ACC announced Wednesday. Carolina finished the 2019 season third with 12 ACC wins.
Two-year returning starter, Cox owns 436 kills, averaging 2.48 kills per set in her first two seasons as a Tar Heel. The outside/rightside hitter collected 131 digs and 112.0 total blocks in 176 sets to date.
Three-time ACC champion Pittsburgh was selected to repeat at the top of the ACC, earning 11 first-place votes and 192 points.
