CHAPEL HILL – Despite Virginia Tech scoring first in both games, Carolina swept the doubleheader for a pair of comeback wins, scoring 12 runs on Friday afternoon at Anderson Stadium.
Trailing in the sixth inning, Sierra Parkinson drove in the game-winning run for the 2-1 victory in game one. The Tar Heels' offense exploded in game two for the 10-2 victory in five innings, thanks to Kiani Ramsey's first career home run and first Carolina grand slam of the season. Brittany Pickett anchored Carolina's defense, tossing two complete games with 10 strikeouts in the doubleheader.
