Carter Becomes Programs All-Time Wins Leader

PACIFIC PALISADES, California - North Carolina’s three-time All-America Hayley Carter became the women’s tennis program’s all-time wins leader on Friday when she advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2016 Riviera/ITA All-American Championships.

Carter, the top seed in the event, defeated Alabama’s Erin Routliffe, 6-2, 6-1, to earn her 132nd singles victory, moving past Sanaz Marand for the program record. Carter later in the day defeated Oklahoma State’s Viktoria Lushkova, 7-5, 6-4, to reach the quarterfinal round on Saturday.

In doubles, Carter and Jessie Aney reached the semifinals after defeating Mississippi State’s Jasmin Lee and Lisa Marie Rioux by an 8-0 shutout.
