Carolina Walks Off for Series Sweep of Virginia Tech

CHAPEL HILL – With two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth, Sierra Parkinson sent a two-run single to center for the 4-3 walk-off win and Carolina's third comeback victory of the weekend over Virginia Tech en route to Sunday's series sweep.

After quickly tying the game at 2-2, the Tar Heels and Hokies put up five scoreless innings to send the game into extras. Caitlyn Nolan gave Virginia Tech a one-run edge heading to the bottom of the eighth. However, Carolina quickly loaded the bases on a walk and bunt-singles by Kiani Ramsey and Taylor Wike to set the stage for Parkinson.
