CHAPEL HILL – Highlighted by a five-run sixth inning and Hannah George's fifth complete game, Carolina defeated Pittsburgh, 7-2 on Saturday afternoon to even up the weekend series at Anderson Stadium.
Following a quiet first four innings, Carolina took the lead in the fifth off the bats of Destiny Middleton and Abby Settlemyre. Shortly after, Pittsburgh responded with a two-run home run by Hunter Levesque, tying the game 2-2 at the top of sixth inning. Carolina answered back with a five runs in the bottom of the sixth for the 7-2 win.
