CHAPEL HILL—No. 4 North Carolina scored early and never let up in its 2-1 win over Coastal Carolina Sunday night at Fetzer Field in the second round of the NCAA Men’s Soccer Championship.
The fifth-seeded Tar Heels advance to the third round for the sixth time in the last seven years, and will face No. 12 seed Creighton next Saturday at 7 p.m. in Chapel Hill. The Bluejays won 5-1 over Drake on Sunday.
Tucker Hume punched in the first goal just two minutes into the match, the fastest goal of the season for North Carolina (15-1-3).
