CHAPEL HILL – The University of North Carolina track and field teams swept the competition at the Dick Taylor Carolina Cup on Friday claiming both team championships. It’s the first time in the meet’s existence that both North Carolina teams claimed the championship in the same year.
“It’s exciting to win,” head coach Harlis Meaders said. “It’s an early season meet for sure and I don’t think any team is at it’s full capacity, but it was a scored competition and to get an early season victory is important for us. It’s important for team morale and it’s fun.
