CHAPEL HILL - Back on the court for the first time since winning the ITA National Team Indoor Championship on Feb. 7, the No. 1-ranked North Carolina women's tennis team swept a pair of in-state foes, 7-0, on Tuesday inside Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
The Tar Heels dispatched of Charlotte (7-3) in the afternoon, before turning their attention to Appalachian State (1-3) in the evening. North Carolina (9-0) has equaled its program record with 27-straight dual-match wins, a record that was first set back in 2015, and has won 38 consecutive home matches.
The win over the 49ers was highlighted by fifth-year seniors Sara Daavettila and Alexa Graham both earning their 134th career singles wins, moving past Sanaz Marand (133 career wins) for second on the program's career wins list.
