Carolina Selected As NCAA Regional Host

No. 2 North Carolina will host the 2017 NCAA Chapel Hill Regional, the NCAA announced Sunday night. By virtue of being selected to host, Carolina has officially earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Championship and will return to the sport's signature event after a two-year absence.

The full field of 64 teams will be announced Monday at noon on ESPN2. Ticket information will be released as soon as possible following the bracket announcement.

Carolina (47-12) will host a regional for the ninth time in school history and the eighth time since 2006. The Tar Heels are 21-5 all-time in home regional games and have advanced to a Super Regional six times since the current format was implemented in 1999.
