The North Carolina rowing team will face its first outside competition of the fall on Sunday at the Occoquan Chase in Occoquan, Va. Racing on the Occoquan Reservoir begins at 10 a.m. and runs through approximately 3:30 p.m. The Tar Heels will compete in the women’s 8+ at 11 a.m. and in the women’s 4+ at 1 p.m.
UNC coach Sarah Haney and her staff will head into the racing with two goals in mind. “First, your first race gives you the opportunity to see where you are as a team, against outside competition, and see what your team can do in the heat of the moment on race day,” Haney said.
