CHAPEL HILL - Coming off a trip to the College Cup last fall, the University of North Carolina men's soccer team's 2017 schedule will feature no fewer than six teams that participated in the NCAA Championship last season. Included in that group is fellow College Cup participant Wake Forest, and an NCAA Quarterfinal rematch with Providence in this season's opening match.
The 2017 campaign will be a unique one in the long history of this championship program. The Tar Heels' home grounds of Fetzer Field is under construction and is scheduled to reopen as a state-of-the-art facility for the 2018 season, meaning for just the second time since the program began in 1947, Carolina will not play its home matches on campus in Chapel Hill.
