PRINCETON, N.J. – The UNC field hockey team got goals from four different players in four different quarters Friday en route to its first win of the season, 4-1 at No. 13 Princeton. The Tar Heels improved to 1-2 overall while the host Tigers fell to 0-1 in their first action since meeting UNC in the 2019 NCAA Championship game.
Coming off back-to-back losses for the first time since the 2013 season, the Tar Heels got on the board first with a goal from sophomore Katie Dixon. Just over four minutes into the match at Bedford Field, Dixon chased down a loose ball at mid-circle and backhanded it past Princeton keeper Robyn Thompson for a 1-0 lead.
