CHAPEL HILL—The North Carolina women's lacrosse team, the 2016 NCAA champion, will begin its national title drive in 2017 on Saturday at noon at home against James Madison. The Tar Heels and Dukes will take the opening draw at noon on Saturday at Fetzer Field. ACC Network Extra will stream the game live.
Carolina won a school-record 20 games last year, finishing the season on a 17-game winning streak while winning the ACC regular season and tournament titles and capturing the national championship.
Seven preseason All-America picks return, as does two-time National Goalie of the Year Caylee Waters and nine of the team's top 11 scorers from last year.
