DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina men’s fencing team competed at the Duke Meet on Saturday in Durham, finishing 1-4 against a top-notch field.
The Tar Heels took on three top-10 teams in No. 2 Notre Dame, No. 4 Penn State, No. 9 Duke, as well as unranked Johns Hopkins and Brandeis.
Carolina finished with a win over Brandeis (15-12) and losses to Johns Hopkins (14-13), Duke (18-9), Penn State (21-6) and Notre Dame (25-2).
Fencing action continues at Card Gym on Sunday when the UNC women will compete. Fencing begins at 8 a.m. and will wrap up around 4 p.
