CHAPEL HILL - Kelly Hughes scored 24 points and Boston College made a program-record 15 three-pointers in an 88-77 victory over North Carolina on Thursday night inside Carmichael Arena.
Boston College (9-16, 2-10 Atlantic Coast Conference) shot 63 percent from beyond the arc, making 15 of its 24 attempts, and held a 49-31 rebounding margin in the game.
North Carolina (13-11, 2-9) was paced by Jamie Cherry’s career-high 31 points and six assists, while Paris Kea poured in 22 points and grabbed six rebounds. Stephanie Watts had 12.
Boston College closed the first quarter on a 14-0 run to break open what was an 11-11 game with four minutes, 15 seconds remaining in the period.
