CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The No. 5 North Carolina men’s soccer team wrapped up the regular season with a 0-0 double-overtime draw at 13th-ranked Virginia on Friday night.
North Carolina (14-1-2, 6-1-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) secured first place in the Atlantic Coast Conference Coastal Division last week, and will be the No. 2 seed in the ACC Championship. The Tar Heels will host a quarterfinal round match against either #7 seed Syracuse or 10th-seed NC State next Sunday, Nov. 8 at 1 p.m.
Playing the final 13 minutes down a man after Alan Winn was sent off with a Red Card, Carolina still fought to the bitter end against one of its longest-running rivals.
