Throughout February, Carolina Athletics will celebrate Black History Month by recognizing the success and accomplishments of former African-American student-athletes and hosting a variety of events on campus.
The month kicks off Friday with a video of Martina Ballen, UNC's senior associate director of athletics for business and chief financial officer. The video is the first of four in which Ballen, Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Harlis Meaders, sophomore Garrison Brooks (men's basketball) and junior Brittany West (softball) share what Black History Month means to them. The videos will be featured on GoHeels.
