CHAPEL HILL - Second seed North Carolina earned a 4-0 victory over Furman in the first round of the NCAA Women's Tennis Championship from Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
North Carolina (31-2) juggled its doubles tandems and it worked perfectly by dominating the visiting Paladins for the opening point. Chloe Ouellet-Pizer and Rachael James-Baker won 6-0 on court three and freshmen Sara Daavettila and Makenna Jones won 6-1 on court two.
The Tar Heels then cleaned up on courts 4 through 6. Ouellet-Pizer was first to post a win, 6-2, 6-1, over Aryn Greene on court six.
