CHAPEL HILL – North Carolina first baseman Michael Busch was selected 31st overall by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the first round of the 2019 Major League Baseball Draft on Monday night. He is the 23rd Tar Heel taken in the first round or supplemental round in program history, the 15th in Mike Fox's 21 seasons as a head coach and 11th since 2006.

A native of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, the junior was recently named the 2019 ACC Tournament Most Valuable Player as well as first-team All-ACC for the second consecutive year.
