Tar Heel freshman Ryan Burnett (Lafayette, Calif.) shot a 2-under-par 70 to lead the University of North Carolina in round two of the 2019 NCAA Men's Golf Championship.
Burnett and Vanderbilt's Harrison Ott were the only two competitors in the 156-player field to play the round without a bogey. Burnett had 16 pars and birdies on the 605-yard, par-5 10th hole (his first hole of the day) and the 560-yard, par-5 15th.
Ott made one birdie and 17 pars to shoot 71 for the Commodores.
Carolina shot 12-over-300 today, four strokes better than its opening round score, but UNC fell from 12th to 18th place after 36 holes.
