Tar Heel freshman Ryan Burnett (Lafayette, Calif.) made an eagle and seven birdies en route to a 3-under-par 67 and junior (Longwood, Fla.) rebounded from an opening-round 75 to shoot 68 to lead the University of North Carolina to a tie for second place after 36 holes at the 2019 NCAA Stanford Men's Golf Regional.
UNC shot 5-under-275 on Tuesday and is 5 under for the tournament, tied with second-ranked Arizona State 10 shots behind Stanford. The host Cardinal are 15-under-545 with the Tar Heels and Sun Devils 5-under-555. Georgia Southern is 4 under, Ole Miss is in fifth at 3 under, LSU is sixth at even par and UNCG is seventh at 1 over.
