On Sunday, Luke DeCock of The News and Observer spoke with UNC’s Bubba Cunningham to discuss his upcoming appointment as chair of the men’s NCAA Tournament Selection Committee. It was the first time that Cunningham had spoken from that actual position, and the article contained some interesting nuggets.
The big one to note is a follow up from last week’s announcement of how the team sheets will now include Wins Above Bubble, although that metric will be based on their own NET metric and not the outside sources that do them. When discussing that, Cunningham noted that he’s also open to looking at the much-criticized metric himself.
