Breschi Tapped As 2016 National Coach of the Year

BALTIMORE, MD. - North Carolina head coach Joe Breschi, Tar Heel offensive corrdinator David Metzbower and former UNC head coach Willie Scroggs were all honored with awards Friday from the U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Coaches Association.

Breschi was tapped as the National Coach of the Year, the first Tar Heel coach to win the award since Willie Scroggs in 1981. Metzbower, Carolina's offensive coordinator, was tapped as the NCAA Division I assistant coach of the year. Willie Scroggs, who coached the Tar Heels from 1978-1990 and then served in nurmerous capacities with the USILA and NCAA over the years benefitting the sport of collegiate lacrosse, won the Frenchy Julian Award for Service.
