CHAPEL HILL—North Carolina's Joel Berry II and Justin Jackson are both among the 20 remaining candidates for the 2017 John R. Wooden Award, the Los Angeles Athletic Club announced on Wednesday.
Berry is UNC’s second-leading scorer (14.9) and leads the team in assists (93), three-point percentage (.421), free throw percentage (62 for 71, .873) and steals (33). His free throw percentage is the fifth-highest in school history. He is second on the team in three-pointers made (56) and second in the ACC in free throw percentage, third in 3FG percentage, fifth in 3FGs, 10th in assists and 19th in scoring.
