North Carolina had to know what was coming. After all, amid so many injuries – ones that left Baylor without its two best quarterbacks its best wide receiver – what else could the Bears do other than run?
And so that's what they did, again and again – and again – on Tuesday during a 49-38 victory against the Tar Heels in the Russell Athletic Bowl. Baylor ran for 190 yards in the first quarter. Before the second quarter was over, the Bears had broken the bowl's rushing record that had stood since 1999.
