CHAPEL HILL – North Carolina extended its winning streak to a season-high eight games with a 15-4 win over Hofstra to open the 2022 NCAA Chapel Hill Regional at Boshamer Stadium on Friday.
With the win, the Tar Heels (39-19) advance to the winner's bracket Saturday at 6 p.m. against the winner of the Georgia-VCU game, while Hofstra (30-22) will face the loser at 1 p.m.
Mac Horvath went 3-for-4 with two home runs, four RBIs and three runs scored, while Colby Wilkerson and Angel Zarate also collected three hits each.
