CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Patrick Alvarez hit a three-run homer and drove in four as No. 13 North Carolina beat Queens University of Charlotte 10-6 at Boshamer Stadium on Tuesday night.
The Tar Heels scored all 10 of their runs in the first three innings, scoring seven runs in the first and three in the third, collecting 10 of their 11 hits across those frames.
"We learned a valuable lesson in there tonight," UNC head coach Scott Forbes said. "You jump out 10-0 and start coasting, and the next thing you know, the tying run is at the plate.
