CHAPEL HILL – Max Carlson pitched five strong innings, Vance Honeycutt hit a two-run home run and North Carolina defeated Wake Forest on Friday to earn its fourth consecutive win.
Mac Horvath also drove in a run for the Diamond Heels (30-18, 11-14 ACC), who have won seven of their last eight games.
"Before the game today I talked to our team about John Wooden's definition of adversity because we had it," UNC Head Coach Scott Forbes said.
"These guys kept fighting and kept working. You start winning those one run games, which we won two at NC State, your team believes more that you're going to win them.
