CHAPEL HILL – North Carolina completed its season-opening three game sweep of Seton Hall on Sunday with a 7-3 victory at Boshamer Stadium. A foursome of Tar Heel pitchers scattered six hits and combined for 13 strikeouts.
After falling behind 1-0 in the second inning, Carolina (3-0) scored seven unanswered runs across the third, fourth and fifth innings to seize control of the game. Junior Angel Zarate drove in a pair of runs while a foursome of hitters had one run each. Sophomore Johnny Castagnozzi and freshman Reece Holbrook collected two hits each.
