CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Mark Atherton has joined the UNC field hockey staff as an assistant coach, Tar Heel head coach Karen Shelton announced today. Atherton, who is from London, England, brings to Chapel Hill 17 years of experience at all levels of the game.
“We’re thrilled to have Mark Atherton join our already outstanding staff,” Shelton said. “He brings a wealth of experience from the English leagues and coaching at our age group. He’s had amazing success at this level. I’ve known him for years and I think he’s a great fit for our program.
