Tywon Lawson has been the subject of trade rumors for months. The rumors came to fruition yesterday as the Denver Nuggets traded Lawson to the Houston Rockets for the non-guaranteed contracts of Nick Johnson, Pablo Prigioni, Joey Dorsey, Kostas Papanikolaou and a 2016 first round draft pick (lottery protected).
On the surface, this trade is a win-win for both teams. Denver is in the rebuilding mode. Last month, they drafted Emmanuel Mudiay as the No. 7 overall selection. Mudiay will become their starting point guard after due to this trade. Houston gets a playmaking point guard in Lawson who can create his own shot.
