Former North Carolina sharpshooter Cameron Johnson was selected by the Phoenix Suns with the No. 11 pick in the NBA Draft on Thursday night. Johnson went just four picks after former UNC point guard Coby White, marking the 114th Tar Heel taken all-time, and 51st in the first round.
Johnson’s selection marks just the second time a Tar Heel has been selected in the lottery since Harrison Barnes, Kendall Marshall and John Henson were all taken in the top-14 of the 2012 NBA Draft. He’s the 25th Tar Heel selected since Roy Williams came back to North Carolina in 2003, and the 12th lottery pick during that span.
