NOTRE DAME, IND. - No. 1 North Carolina won its opening Atlantic Coast Conference match of the season and set a new program record with its 35th consecutive ACC regular season dual match victory with a 6-1 win over No. 29 Notre Dame on Friday afternoon.
North Carolina (12-0, 1-0 ACC) dropped the doubles point for the second time in as many matches, but rallied to remain unbeaten on the season and run its winning streak over the Fighting Irish to 12 in a row.
Cameron Morra and Carson Tanguilig, who struggled during the run to the ITA Indoor national championship two weeks ago, were the lone Tar Heel tandem to earn a doubles victory from court two.
