TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The top ranked North Carolina women's tennis team held on against the No. 2 Florida State Seminoles to win a down-to-the-wire matchup, 4-3, on Friday afternoon at the Scott Speicher Memorial Tennis Center. The Tar Heels are now 13-0 following their first conference matchup, while the Seminoles drop to 10-2 overall and 1-1 in the ACC.
UNC also extends its winning streak to six straight matches over No. 2 ranked teams, a run that dates back to the 2013 ITA National Team Indoor Championship finals win over UCLA. Additionally, the Heels have beaten the Seminoles 12 straight times in all competitions.
