The USA National Junior Select team earned its first win over the World Select Team in the last two years at the Nike Hoops Summit in Portland on Saturday. The USA used a late fourth quarter run to pull out a 84-73 win.
North Carolina had two of their three highly-touted recruits play in the game, missing only forward Justin Jackson. Joel Berry II and Theo Pinson finished with just three points combined, all from Pinson. But the duo did their jobs and helped USA earn the win.
Berry went 0-for-1 from the field with one assist in 7 minutes of play as he backed up Tyus Jones. Pinson played 15 minutes and went 1-for-5 shooting and finished with 3 points.
Pinson and Berry will join Jackson at the Jordan Brand Classic in Brooklyn on Friday night.
