The North Carolina Tar Heels never trailed against the Indiana Hoosiers and cruised to a win Friday. The No. 1 seeded Tar Heels defeated the No. 5 seeded Indiana Hoosiers 101-86 to advance to the Elite Eight.
Indiana tied the game twice in the first half, but that was it. Once UNC reached 10 points, the Hoosiers never managed to tie it up. UNC led by 21 at one point.
The Tar Heels aren't a great 3-point shooting team, but hit 11 of 20 threes. They actually went cold after starting the game 10 of 13. Marcus Paige was 6 of 9 on 3-pointers, and racked up 21 points. He was one of five players to reach double figures. Brice Johnson had 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Kennedy Meeks had 15 points.
Indiana took 31 3-pointers and hit 13 of them. Four players had double-figures, led by Yogi Farrell. He had 25 points and four assists. Troy Williams had 21 points.
The Tar Heels will face fellow ACC squad Notre Dame Sunday. Notre Dame rallied to beat Wisconsin earlier Friday.
