NC State’s new first baseman, Chris McHugh, is a transfer from VCU and he’s already turning heads with his power potential.
This past summer he was invited to the MLB’s Home Run Derby Tour (called Homerun Derby X), where he was paired with MLB legend Manny Ramirez and Amanda Lorenz (softball superstar) to take on teams with guys like Brave’s legend Andruw Jones, Yankees star Nick Swisher and Red Sox/Rays power hitter Jonny Gomes.
The MLB guys are the draw. They’re the ones that are going to be hitting the most homers on most nights. But in this event, this past summer, it was Chris McHugh who stole the show (skip to 3:39 in the video below to see McHugh’s big round).
