The NFL held its Hall of Fame induction ceremonies for the 2020 and 2021 classes over the weekend—the former having been canceled last year thanks to COVID—and among the inductees was former NC State linebacker Bill Cowher.
Cowher, of course, isn’t in the Hall because of his playing career, but rather for his accomplishments as the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers for 15 years. Cowher led the team to 10 playoff appearances and a pair of Super Bowls, winning the championship in 2005, which was a year before he retired.
There was a contingent of NC State colleagues at the ceremony in Canton, including Chuck Amato, who was Cowher’s position coach in Raleigh.
