Former NC State baseball player Trea Turner hit for the cycle in the Washington National’s 11-1 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday night. It was the second time Turner has hit for the cycle in his career - with the first time also happening against the Rockies.
Here’s how it happened:
- Lead-off solo home run in the 1st
- Infield single off the pitcher’s leg in the 2nd
- Stand-up triple in the RF corner in the 5th
- Stand-up double in the right-CF gap in the 7th
His second career cycle makes Turner just the 26th player in MLB history with multiple cycles to his credit, and he’s just the 3rd player in MLB history with multiple cycles against the same team.
