This past Saturday, NC State and Wake Forest played one another in football for the 118th time in the series. The two have played one another every year since 1910, which is the longest continual series in the ACC, and the second longest in the nation.
Despite being ancient in-state rivals, the marching bands of the two teams united on the field at Carter-Finley Stadium this past Saturday while their two teams were playing, to play Amazing Grace as a tribute to those who were devastated by Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina.
The unity displayed by the two marching bands caught the attention of the national media.
