NC State guard Saniya Rivers was drafted by the Connecticut Sun in the 1st Round of the 2025 WNBA Draft tonight with the 8th overall pick.
This past season, the Sun went 28-12, finishing 3rd in the standings. Connecticut advanced to the semifinals of the 2024 WNBA Playoffs, losing 77-88 in Game 5.
Rivers becomes the highest-drafted player in NC State history and the 5th former Wolfpack player to be selected in the 1st round of the WNBA Draft.
