This is unfortunate
The Wolfpack were a favorite of the 7'1 Greek big man when it came to colleges, but the allure of getting paid to the play the game was apparently too much for Papagiannis to pass up. He elected to stay in the Greek league today, and continue to play for Panathinaikos, which is his professional team. The skilled center likely would've started for the Pack, and added a much needed inside scoring threat, but State will have to make it work with the trio of Abu, Anya, and Freeman.
Georgios Papagiannis will stay in Greece & pursue a professional career, a source told Scout.
