Russell Wilson was traded on Wednesday. Sort of. If he ever leaves the NFL for Major League Baseball, he’ll be a New York Yankee.
The Seattle Seahawks quarterback, who played both football and baseball at N.C. State, had his baseball rights traded from the Texas Rangers to the New York Yankees on Wednesday for future considerations.
Wilson is a lifelong Yankees fan and tweeted about it.
Thank you Texas...Hello New York.
Always said we’d be a Yankee Pops! #MLB @Yankees https://t.co/aMnmL3SPsZ— Russell Wilson (@DangeRussWilson) February 7, 2018Never miss a local story.
