Redshirt freshman running back Nakia Robinson is leaving the NC State football program, he announced Monday. Robinson was part of the competition for carries in a reserve role behind Reggie Gallaspy, but as the season’s worn on, his opportunity for carries has disappeared.
Robinson appeared in four games for the Wolfpack this season, but hasn’t had a carry since Week 2 against Georgia State. He tallied three carries for eight yards in that contest.
In the time since then, he’s watched true freshmen Trent Pennix and Ricky Person get more opportunities, which is not something that was likely to change this season or in the future.
