Jennifer Patrick-Swift wants to bring a “home run mentality” to Raleigh, and this is not a distressed metaphor—she literally wants her team to hit a lot of homers. Her last team at St. Francis hit 83 home runs, which led the country.
In this recent interview with SiriusXM, she offered good insight into how she wants to approach recruiting and, more importantly, how she wants to develop hitters once they are on campus. Maybe it isn’t, but this feels like part heresy, part revelation for a bunt-stuffed sport.
This is music to my ears:
We have a home run mind set every time our girls step in the box, it doesn’t matter the situation, it doesn’t matter the count, it doesn’t matter how many outs there are.
