NCAA grants extra year of eligibility for all participants in fall sports

The NCAA has adopted a blanket waiver that gives every athlete who competes in a fall sport an extra year of eligibility, with an extra year to complete it. Recently, the NCAA canceled all of its fall sports championships. (That does not include the College Football Playoff, which the NCAA does not control.)

Fall sports impacted at NC State are men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s soccer, women’s volleyball, and, of course, football. Any seniors on these teams who wish to take advantage of the extra year will not count against scholarship limits in 2021-22.
