RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State baseball’s Jack Conley was selected by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 27th round of the 2018 Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft with the 797th overall pick, as a total of five Wolfpack players were chosen in this year’s event.
In his 22 seasons as head coach with the Wolfpack, Elliott Avent has had 105 players selected in the MLB Draft, including the five selections from this year. Junior Brett Kinneman along with seniors Brian Brown, Josh McLain and Brock Deatherage were all selected yesterday.
Conley compiled a .333 batting average at the plate during his junior season with the Wolfpack, as he saw action in 21 games with eight starts.
