The first out-of-state addition to NC State’s 2019 recruiting class came on Monday when Rome, Georgia three-star running back Jamious Griffin verbaled to the Wolfpack. Griffin is currently the top-ranked NCSU commit in the 247Sports composite rankings.
Griffin has a number of power-conference offers, including one from Georgia Tech—he visited the Yellow Jackets last month. Tech hasn’t exactly been a recruiting juggernaut under Paul Johnson, but nabbing an in-state running back from him is a pretty solid win.
He put up big numbers during his junior season with Rome High School: 178 carries, 1,276 yards (7.2 YPC), 28 touchdowns.
